THING # 16 STUDENT 2.0 TOOLS
I guess with all this technology, the SYLLABUS is now a thing of the past. I would have loved to use the RPC and the ASSIGNMENT CALCULATOR when I went to school. I like to be organized and have all my ducks in a row. The Assignment Calculator really would have been helpfull .
If THING 16 had been THING 3, 4 or even 5 I may have used it to do 23 THINGS. ADIOS

THING # 15 ONLINE GAMES IN LIBRARIES

My children would understand this. They grew up with VIDEO GAMES. As for me, I did try Packman a few times. And, I remember playing a game with my nephew once ( he was 7 then ). It was a motorcycle race. My hand/eye coordination didn't compare to his. He won of course.
So, after all these anos (years) I get a chance to redeem myself with PUZZLE PIRATES...Idid try, but, it seems to take a long time to "launch". After 10 min. of waiting I gave up. Tried again later and a note came up saying server was down for maintenance. Yo (I) will check it out at some later date.
SECOND LIFE...How interesting is that??? You can even "BUY LAND" here! Although there is a price tag , it could be a great learning tool for schools.

Thing # 13 & # 14 ONLINE PRODUCTIVITY TOOLS
Now what do I do??? I just learned about Bookmarks and now Mystickies is telling me it's replacing Bookmarks!!! The new Stoneage is officially yesterday! This stuff is not going to wait for me to catch up. But, as fun as some of these 23 THINGS are, I'm sure it will only get more interesting
as the internet continues to grow and people continue to play with it . The new frontier isn't outerspace...it's Myspace...
I did the start page on iGoogle. Having a weather update right there is nice. In looking at all these different sites it gets to be a bother to have to sign in all the time at these different sites. Mas Tarde !

THING # 11 & # 12 TAGGING & DEL.ICIO.US
Tagging: Another "label" for my blog posts ? I can organize my posts? Will the order they are in now change? I don't know if I want to add another tag/label to my posts. They already have headings AND they are already in order according to when I posted them. Although, I can appreciate that others tag so I am able to find more info. quicker rather than my old way. I don't want to tell you what my regular method is (you will laugh ).
Del.icio.us: Being able to access your bookmarks from any computor is a great idea. Plus, being able to follow other users tags to see what they have tagged to possibly add to your own resources.

THING # 10 WIKI'S
In looking at the different WIKI sites what I found interesting was that WIKI'S are/can be a work in progress. Forever changing with new and different info. on them.
Re: Teachers/Faculty banning students from using Wikipedia for research...Yes the Web is GREAT as a resource. BUT, doing the actual footwork to look is essential.Believe it or not, there is information out there that is not on the Web.
As for editing a WIKI...I tried an entry on our very own 23 Things on a Stick .No SUERTE! ( I LOVE using these colors ) . I couldn't figure it out. My computor ignorance rearing it's ugly head again. Unlike the PUZZLES (where I wouldn't/couldn't give up), I can't see myself going on Wiki's and editing them. Then I tried SANDBOX, and it wouldn't cooperate with me either.
Overall, I think Wiki's are a very good concept for a site that constantly (or not) needs to be edited. I also like the idea that anyone can edit the site.
